Colorado Rockies pitcher Jorge De La Rosa continues to make his way back from a torn ulnar collateral ligament and subsequent Tommy John surgery. After two starts with the Advanced-A Modesto Nuts, De La Rosa will join the Double-A Tulsa Drillers for a rehab start on Saturday, according to Troy Renck:
#Rockies' Jorge De La Rosa will start Saturday for Tulsa...Wasn't sure of exact day until a few minutes ago... It's Saturday— Troy Renck, Rockies (@TroyRenck) May 9, 2012
De La Rosa threw 5.2 innings and posted a 4.76 ERA over his two starts. On Monday night, De La Rosa struggled against the San Jose, allowing all four runs in 2.2 innings. The Giants hit four straight singles and took advantage of a fielding error by Timothy Smalling to score those runs in the second inning.
The Rockies expect to have De La Rosa back in the rotation at the start of June.
