Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki strained his left groin during Wednesday's win over the Houston Astros, and on Thursday afternoon the team placed him on the 15-day disabled list.

Marco Scutaro (.253/.312/.328) will start in his place at shortstop on Thursday night. DJ LeMahieu and Chris Nelson also could spend time at short with Tulowitzki out, according to Jim Tracy.
