The Colorado Rockies (16-27) snapped their 6-game losing streak on Wednesday with an 8-4 win over the Miami Marlins, and now on Friday, they will look to build their first winning streak since May 16 when they won two games in a row -- the best such streak all season. They will have no small obstacle in that endeavor, as the NL Central's best record, the Cincinnati Reds (25-19), oppose them.
Judging by Friday's lineups, however, it appears the team will have to play their series opener without the help of C Ramon Hernandez. The veteran backstop has been day-to-day with a hand injury, but his absence from both the lineup and the bench indicates the team may be sending him to the DL.
