Jonathan Herrera Injury: Hamstring Strain Will Send Infielder To DL

Second baseman Jonathan Herrera led off for the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night during the team's 7-6 road loss to the Miami Marlins, but was pulled from the game after his third at-bat with a sprained groin. Herrera sounded to be in serious pain after the game, and is headed to the 15-day disabled list.

The 27-year old Herrera is hitting .239 with two homers and four RBI this season in 67 at-bats.

DJ LeMahieu will be called up from Triple-A to take Herrera's spot on the roster. LeMahieu was acquired from the Chicago Cubs in an offseason trade centered around third baseman Ian Stewart. LeMahieu is hitting .315 with a .359 on-base percentage this season for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.
