Rockies Vs. Marlins: Colorado Has Last Chance To Avoid Sweep By Miami

The Colorado Rockies enter Wednesday night's contest against the Miami Marlins as losers of their last six games. It can't get worse than that, we all want to believe, but we'll just need to see how things play out. On Tuesday night, the Rockies made it two games in a row where they had a multi-run first inning and then saw it all disappear just a couple of innings later. Will Alex White be able to end that string of scoring results?

White (0-3, 5.09 ERA) has lost in all three of his starts this season, but he pitched rather well in his previous start against the Seattle Mariners. He allowed three runs in seven innings and struck out seven, but his offense put up zero runs in the 4-0 loss.

Carlos Zambrano (2-2, 1.96 ERA) has emerged as a renewed pitcher with the change of scenery to Miami. He has pitched at least six innings in each of his eight starts and has only allowed more than two runs in any outing twice -- both back in April. In May, Zambrano's ERA stands at 0.90 and his WHIP at 0.967 through 30 innings pitched.
