Mariners Vs. Rockies Score Update: Seattle Leads 6-2

Heading into the finale of their series against the Seattle Mariners, the Colorado Rockies knew they would have to step up their performance in order to avoid being swept at home. Unfortunately, through the first six innings, the Rockies have continued to struggle, as they trail 6-2 heading into the 7th inning.

Jeremy Guthrie had issues on the mound for the Rockies, as he allowed six earned runs in six innings. Guthrie gave up three home runs, including two in a three-run third inning for the Mariners. At the plate, Carlos Gonzalez has been impressive, hitting his eighth home run of the season in the first inning. Gonzalez also has a double.

Seattle received a strong outing from Blake Beavan, who allowed just two earned runs in five innings. Both Jesus Montero and Justin Smoak have driven in two runs to help push Seattle into the lead.
