The Colorado Rockies return to Coors Field after a 2-6 road trip out on the West Coast. But at least the Rockies arrive with a victory in hand following a 5-4 win on Tuesday night. That ended a four-game losing streak, but the Rockies haven't won consecutive games since they won three in a row from April 17-18 and 20.
Arizona is 16-21, one full game better in the standings than the 14-21 Rockies. The last time Arizona strung together consecutive wins was from April 29-May 1. Since then, Arizona has won just three times in 13 games.
Colorado will face Patrick Corbin (2-1, 4.50 ERA), who is making just his fourth career start. Corbin was decent in his first start, allowing three runs and striking out six in 5.2 innings. In his second start, he struggled through 3.1 innings by allowing four runs. The third start was much better as he threw seven innings of one-run, three-hit ball. This may be his last start before Daniel Hudson returns to the rotation.
Jamie Moyer (1-3, 4.66 ERA) has run into hard times since the end of April. He's failed to record an out behind the fifth inning. He's allowed 15 runs on 28 hits over those 15 innings. Can Moyer get out of this funk when he makes his first start of the season against Arizona?
