Rockies Vs. Giants Preview: Colorado Looks To Break Skid

Having lost eight of their past nine games, Christian Friedrich will have some extra pressure in his second career MLB start on Monday.

Things have been especially rough of late for the Colorado Rockies, but they're looking to get back on track with a quick two-game series against the San Francisco Giants. Over their past nine games, the Rockies have one just once, getting swept by the Dodgers and the Braves during the period.

Monday's starter for Colorado, lefty Christian Friedrich, is the only pitcher to get a victory during the recent slide. He gave up two runs in his MLB debut against the San Diego Padres on May 9, and now he's being expected to get the team back on track once again against San Francisco.

The Giants have Ryan Vogelsong going on the mound for his sixth start of the season. He's pitched especially well of late, giving up just three runs (two earned) over 14 innings during his past two outings.

Game time/date: 7:15 p.m. MT, Monday, May 14, 2012

Location: AT&T Park, San Francisco, Calif.
