After going 11-11 in April, the Colorado Rockies enter May with a win in hand at the start of their series with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team picked up a 6-2 victory on Monday after the bullpen came through unscathed during a seventh-inning bases-loaded situation.
On Tuesday, Jhoulys Chacin (0-2, 5.85 ERA) will look to rebound from his poor outing in Pittsburgh last week. He allowed five runs in the fifth inning on four straight hits, including two home runs. The team went on to lose that game, 5-1. Chacin is 6-4 with a 2.39 ERA in 11 games (10 starts) against the Dodgers in his career.
Ted Lilly (2-0, 0.90 ERA) opposes Chacin. Lilly has yet to allow more than one run in any of his three starts this season and has gone at least six innings each time. In his one start on the road so far, Lilly did walk six against the Houston Astros -- for whatever that might be worth. Lilly is 8-2 with a 3.84 ERA in 12 career starts against the Rockies.
