Rockies Vs. Astros Preview: SP Juan Nicasio Makes First Season Start On Sunday

The Colorado Rockies (1-1) look to get back to their winning ways on Sunday. After losing to the Houston Astros (1-1) in Saturday night's 7-3 blowout loss, the Rockies send young SP Juan Nicasio to the mound.

Nicasio, who was hit in the head by a line drive in 2011, is coming back from a broken neck and hoping to start the season off strong. The 26-year-old righty squares off against SP Bud Norris (186.0 IP, 3.77 ERA, 4.02 FIP in 2011) who is also making his season debut.

The Astros offense, which hit the second fewest home runs in 2011 (95 HR compared to the Rockies' 163), launched two homers on Saturday against SP Jamie Moyer. This year, the Astros already have 4 homers while the Rockies got just their second round-tripper on Saturday night when RF Michael Cuddyer hit an 8th inning home run.

Game Time: 12:05 p.m. MT

Location: Minute Maid Park, Houston, TX

Broadcast: ROOT-HD (TV), 850 KOA (radio)
