Rockies Vs. Astros: Colorado's Opening Day Lineup Includes Chris Nelson At 3rd Base

The Colorado Rockies announced their 2012 Opening Day lineup against the Houston Astros on Friday afternoon. As expected, second baseman Marco Scutaro has been elevated to the leadoff position while center fielder Dexter Fowler will bat in the two-hole. Here is the complete lineup:

LF Carlos Gonzalez
SS Troy Tulowitzki
1B Todd Helton
RF Michael Cuddyer
C Ramon Hernandez
3B Chris Nelson
P Jeremy Guthrie

Chris Nelson draws the start at third base over Jordan Pacheco, who is expected to receive playing time at the hot corner as well as around the infield.

Scutaro, Cuddyer, Hernandez and Guthrie are all making their Rockies debuts in this game after being acquired through free agency or trade during the offseason.
