Rockies Vs. Astros: Houston's Lineup Revealed As Jed Lowrie Starts Season On DL

The Houston Astros have announced their starting lineup for an opening day tilt with the Colorado Rockies. Shortstop Jed Lowrie will not be part of the starting nine. He was placed on the disable list, according to Zachary Levine of the Houston Chronicle, with a thumb injury.

Highlighted by Carlos Lee in the fourth spot, the Astros lineup looks like this:

1 - Jordan Schafer, CF

2 - Jose Altuve, 2B

3 - J.D. Martinez, LF

4 - Carlos Lee, 1B

5 - Brian Bogusevic, RF

6 - Chris Johnson, 3B

7 - Jason Castro, C

8 - Marwin Gonzalez, SS

9 - Wandy Rodriguez, SP

Lowrie, acquired from the Red Sox in a December trade, has a sprained thumb. The DL move is retroactive to March 29, and he will be eligible to come off the DL on April 13.
