Jorge De La Rosa To Make Rehab Start On May 2

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Jorge De La Rosa is scheduled to make a rehab start with High Single-A Modesto on May 2, as the team announced on Sunday. De La Rosa is nearing the end of his long absence from the game due to Tommy John surgery.

De La Rosa isn't expected to be back in Colorado's rotation until early June after making a series of rehab starts in the minor leagues. He reportedly looked good in extended spring training earlier this month, and now he'll get to return to live action in a few days.

He hasn't had any setbacks from his surgery yet, so hopefully he'll be near full strength by the middle of the season. For more on these teams, visit Rockies blog Purple Row and Mets blog Amazin' Avenue. Head over to Baseball Nation and MLB Daily Dish for more news and notes around the league.
