The Colorado Rockies are set for a three-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates to start the new week, but there are questions about whether Monday's game will even take place. The weather forecast calls for sub-40-degree weather, as well as snow.
Should the game on Monday proceed as planned, the Rockies will have Jamie Moyer (1-2, 2.55 ERA) on the mound. Moyer, as we recall, became the oldest pitcher to win a major league game when he defeated the San Diego Padres, 5-3, last Tuesday. He held the Padres to two unearned runs on six hits over seven innings. He used just 87 pitches that time, having thrown 181 pitches over the 10.2 innings of his first two starts.
Opposing him will be Kevin Correia, who enters the game with a 1-0 record and a 1.50 ERA in two starts. In his second year with the Pirates, Correia is still a familiar face to the Rockies after a combined eight year with the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres. He's put up similar lines in each start so far: one run allowed over six innings. He has a 3-5 career record with a 4.57 ERA in 30 games (12 starts).
Game time/date: 5:05 p.m. MT, Monday, April 23, 2012
Location: PNC Park, Pittsburgh, Pa.
