Rockies Pitchers Jorge De La Rosa And Josh Outman To Make Minor League Rehab Appearances On Saturday

The Colorado Rockies (7-6) could use some help on the mound in 2012, so news that starter Jorge De La Rosa and reliever Josh Outman are scheduled to make rehab appearances on Saturday in the minor leagues is a welcome development. The Rockies currently rank No. 23 in ERA (4.38), No. 27 in quality starts (4), No. 21 in WHIP (1.38) and No. 23 in Batting Average Against (.264), but they have been balanced that with a potent offense that ranks in the top-10 for runs scored, batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage.

According to Rockies.com, De La Rosa is on the 15-day disabled list with a torn ulnar collateral ligament and is due back sometime in June, while Outman is on the 15-day DL with a strained oblique and could return by the end of the month. The latest updates on De La Rosa and Outman come via the Rockies' Facebook page:

Rockies rehab update: LHP Jorge De La Rosa is scheduled to throw four innings or 60 pitches at Salt River Fields today. LHP Josh Outman to throw two innings or 30 pitches of BP.
