The Denver skies have paused the game action at Coors Field as a rain delay has sent both teams to the clubhouse. When play resumes, the Colorado Rockies will enter the top of the 5th inning with a 5-1 lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
UPDATE: The game is expected to resume around 9:05 p.m. MT.
After jumping to a 3-1 lead in the second inning, the Rockies found a way to eke out two more runs in a rainy Denver night. Colorado grabbed a run in the bottom of the third after walks from CF Dexter Fowler and 1B Todd Helton led to an RBI single from RF Michael Cuddyer.
In the fourth inning, 3B Jordan Pacheco tripled on a fly ball to center field and came home on a ground out from P Jhoulys Chacin to give Colorado a 5-1 lead. But by the finish of the fourth inning, the rains had begun to pour in earnest, forcing the officials to delay the game.
