The Colorado Rockies pay a visit to Goodyear Ballpark and the Cleveland Indians on Thursday afternoon, one day after defeating the Chicago White Sox, 8-5. Jamie Moyer didn't have his greatest start this spring in that game, but he is still in a strong position to make the rotation. Thursday's starter, Juan Nicasio, is expected to slot in as the No. 4 pitcher for the Rockies this season.
Nicasio has worked his way back from last August's broken neck and has had no limitations on him this spring. He's pitched 10.2 innings and struck out 10 over his last two starts, but he has allowed 10 runs on 15 hits and one walk.
Derek Lowe will start for the split-squad Indians on Thursday. He is 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA in four starts this spring. In his last start, he threw six scoreless innings of seven-hit ball and struck out four.
Here is Thursday's Rockies lineup (via Troy Renck):
CF Eric Young Jr.
2B Marco Scutaro
DH Wilin Rosario
SS Troy Tulowitzki
C Ramon Hernandez
3B Chris Nelson
RF Tyler Colvin
1B Brandon Wood
LF Brian Rike
P Juan Nicasio
First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. MDT.
