2012 Golden Spikes Award Watch: Ross Stripling Strikes Out 10

Another week is in the books for college baseball and former Colorado Rockies draft picks continue to perform well throughout the nation.

Outfielder Preston Tucker (2011 16th Round pick) continues to be a key contributor to the Florida Gators offense as a senior returnee. He went 3-for-11 over the weekend two home runs and a stolen base. He is now hitting .387/.412/.935 with five home runs and eight RBI.

Miami Hurricanes catcher Peter O'Brien (2011 3rd Round pick) picked up three hits in eight at-bats, driving in six runs and scoring four times. Two of those hits went for doubles, and his third went for a home run. O'Brien's season line stands at .519/.576/1.000 with four doubles, three home runs and nine RBI.

Righty Kevin Gausman (Denver native) helped the LSU Tigers to its only victory of the weekend over the Appalachian St. Mountaineers with seven shutout innings of four-hit ball. He struck out seven. He is 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA a 14:2 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Texas A&M righty Ross Stripling (2011 9th round pick) took a no-decision after allowing three runs in 6.2 innings on Saturday. He struck out 10 Holy Cross batters in what turned into a 7-3 loss for A&M. Stripling is now 1-0 with a 3.29 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 13.2 innings.
