The LSU Tigers offense couldn't do much against the Appalachian St. Mountaineers on Saturday afternoon, falling in 1-0 decision. LSU starter Ryan Eades, a 2010 19th round draft choice by the Colorado Rockies, was on the mound for the Tigers, allowing the sole run of the game on a Daniel Kassouf home run in the top of the fourth inning. Eades left the game having thrown 6.1 innings, allowing four hits, walking two and striking out five. He now has a 0.79 ERA and 13 strikeouts in two starts.
The LSU offense couldn't do anything against Ryan Arrowood. He held the Tigers to two hits over seven shutout innings while striking out 10. Nathan Hyatt closed out the game for the final two innings, striking out three. LSU shortstop (and 2008 Rockies draftee) Austin Nola went 0-for-3 and struck out twice.
Kurt McCune will be on the mound for the Tigers on Sunday at 10 a.m. MT.
