Jamie Moyer and his 49 years on this earth will compete for the fifth spot in the Colorado Rockies' rotation as part of a crowded field. Guillermo Moscoso appears to have the advantage for that spot one day before pitchers and catchers officially report to Salt Rivers Fields at Talking Stick, but don't count out Moyer.
↵ESPN's Jayson Stark is in Moyer's corner for the coming rotation battle:
↵↵↵The Rockies WANT him to make their team. [...] And don't bet against him, either. People have been doing that for the past two decades. And how's that worked out for them?
↵
But, realistically, does anyone believe a pitcher with an 80 mph fastball will be able to seriously compete with the others? I guess that's why Moyer's picture can be found next to the definition of "crafty lefty" in a (baseball) dictionary.
