Keith Law has continued breaking down his top prospects for the 2012 season. This time, Law provides his top sleeper prospects (Insider required) for each team. Law goes with shortstop Rosell Herrera for the Colorado Rockies.
↵Herrera is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound shortstop who, as Law points out, could move over to third base because of his size. Herrera did play third base for 16 games in his debut season in the States this past season. Born on Oct. 16, 1992, Herrera played in the Pioneer League as an 18-year-old, hitting .284/.361/.449 with eight triples and six home runs.
↵The Rockies signed Herrera in July 2009 and gave him a $550,000 signing bonus.
