Chris Nelson Steals Home, 1st Anniversary

One year ago on Sept. 9, Colorado Rockies infielder Chris Nelson pulled off a feat we just don't see often enough: a steal of home plate. But that's what he did against the Cincinnati Reds:

Reds reliever Nick Masset turns his back to home plate as soon as he realizes something is going on, allowing Nelson to score the go-ahead run for the Rockies' 6-5 lead.

This season hasn't gone as well as Nelson likely would have wanted it to go. He started the season back in Triple-A Colorado Springs and made it back in the majors at the end of May. He then spent all of June with the team, but went back down to the minors. He came back at the end of July and spent most of August with the team--before a return to Colorado Springs. He hit .231/.258/.340 163 plate appearances over 49 games for the Rockies.

We should see Nelson back in the Rockies lineup for September once he is back from injury.
