Kevin Millwood, Wilin Rosario Homer In 5-3 Loss To Arizona

The Colorado Rockies finished their season series with the Arizona Diamondbacks with five wins and 13 losses following Wednesday night's 5-3 loss. The Rockies certainly did it in style with home runs from pitcher Kevin Millwood and catcher Wilin Rosario.

Home runs were the only way the Rockies were able to score their runs on Tuesday. Kevin Millwood led off the third inning with a home run. It was his first home run since 2002 when he hit one off the Rockies' Denny Stark. Stark hit a home run off Millwood in that May game.

Three batters later, Carlos Gonzalez hit a home run off Joe Saunders, his 25th of the year. In the fourth inning, rookie catcher Wilin Rosario smacked a home run to left center field, the first of his career.

Millwood (2-2, 3.79 ERA) didn't fare as well on the mound. He a third-inning, two-run home run to Miguel Montero to break the 0-0 tie at the time and then ran into more trouble during the sixth inning. A leadoff single by Paul Goldschmidt set up a John McDonald run-scoring double and a Joe Saunders RBI single.

Jim Tracy used seven relievers after Kevin Millwood left the game in the sixth inning. Only Rex Brothers allowed a run to score, a Justin Upton home run in the seventh inning.

The Rockies (67-76, 36-35 home) are off Thursday before they host the Cincinnati Reds on Friday.
