Kevin Millwood Leads Rockies Into Season Series Finale With Arizona

The Colorado Rockies, no matter the outcome of this game, have already lost the season series with Arizona Diamondbacks. At best the Rockies will win six of the 18 games they played should they win on Wednesday night.

Kevin Millwood (2-1, 3.34 ERA) is coming off the best start of his abbreviated 2011 season. He struck out eight and scattered seven hits in seven shutout innings against the San Diego Padres last week. This start will be his first of the 2011 season against the Snakes, holding a 6-1 record with a 1.93 ERA in nine career starts. But his last start against them came in 2006--quite a long time ago in baseball time.

Joe Saunders (9-12, 3.86 ERA) hasn't seen the Rockies since the end of May when he threw eight innings of two-run ball. Since the start of July, Saunders has picked up a decision in all but two of his 12 starts. He's coming off a loss to the Giants last week, allowing four runs over 5-1/3 innings in the 6-2 loss.

First pitch for the game is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. MT.
