Rockies Vs. Astros: Drew Pomeranz Out To End Colorado's Eight-Game Losing Streak

The Colorado Rockies haven't been able to catch a break lately, dropping eight straight games. The latest was an 8-6 loss to the Houston Astros on the road on Thursday night. Rookie Alex White didn't allow any home runs in the game, but he still gave up his requisite five runs.

Drew Pomeranz (1-0, 1.69 ERA) will make just his third career start. After throwing five shutout innings in his debut, Pomeranz made it through 5-2/3 innings against the Giants. He allowed two runs, but Huston Street and Matt Lindstrom combined to allow four runs in the eighth inning. This will be his first road start.

Brett Myers (6-13, 4.39 ERA) faces the Rockies for the second time this season. On Aug. 22, the Rockies knocked Myers around for seven runs in five innings. Since then, Myers has pitched in five games and won the last three. And except for his last start when he allowed two runs, the other four saw him allow just one run. One of those five appearances was a two-inning relief performance. He pitched at least seven innings in those four starts.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. MT.
