Rockies Vs. Brewers: Colorado Searches For Victory After Losing In Walkoff Fashion

The Colorado Rockies were victims of the long ball in Tuesday night's 2-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Matt Lindstrom served up a leadoff walkoff home run to Ryan Braun in the 11th inning to lose the game. It was similar to the Rockies' previous walkoff loss in Milwaukee back in May.

With the loss yesterday and an Atlanta Braves victory, the Rockies were eliminated from the wild card hunt officially. But Kevin Millwood (2-2, 3.79 ERA) is still going to go out there and pitch for a victory. He just threw his worst start of his short major league season. The Arizona Diamondbacks put four runs on the board in his 5-2/3 innings. He allowed 10 hits (one home run) in that appearance. Just the start before that, Millwood pitched seven shutout innings and struck out eight while on the mound against the Dodgers.

Shaun Marcum (12-6, 3.25 ERA) has thrown his last two starts similarly compared to Kevin Millwood's, He More recently, the Phillies touched him up for five runs in 6-2/3 innings while in the start before he threw a seven shutout innings of one-hit ball against the Astros. Against the Rockies this season, Marcum is 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in 13 innings. In May he allowed one run in eight innings against the Rockies, winning his sixth game of the season.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. MT.
