The 2012 Colorado Rockies schedule has been released, (Tracy Ringolsby tweeted the entire thing) and the season starts on the road for the Rockies with the Houston Astros. That three-game series runs Friday, April 6-Sunday, April 8. The Rockies then return home on Monday, April 9 for the Coors Field opener against the San Francisco Giants. They will take Tuesday off before playing two more games in the series.

The Rockies' interleague series are against the Seattle Mariners (May 18-20), the Los Angeles Angels (June 8-10) and the Oakland Athletics (June 12-14) at home. On the road, the Rockies visit the Detroit Tigers (June 15-17) and the Texas Rangers (June 22-24).

The season will end in October once again with the final series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Oct. 1-3, on the road. From May 21-23, the Rockies will visit the renamed Miami Marlins and their new stadium. As MLB.com's Thomas Harding notes, the Rockies play 18 of their first 27 games at Coors Field and are on the road for 20 of their final 30 games.

The Rule 4 First-Year Player Draft will be on June 4 and the All-Star Game in Kansas City takes place on July 10.
