David Wright is on waivers! The Rockies put a claim in on him! But no one knows who received Wright on a waiver claim, reports Troy Renck of the Denver Post. Oh, and the New York Mets don't want to trade him--right now.
↵The Rockies do need to make an upgrade at third base. Ian Stewart hasn't proven it and likely never will. Ty Wigginton, Chris Nelson? Eh. Kevin Kouzmanoff? Well, he is the latest to get a tryout at the hot corner.
↵Wright's been injured this season, but he's hit .213/.304/.388 in August after a brief but hot 10 games in July. He had missed most of May and all of June due to injury.
↵The Rockies could do a whole lot worse than seeking a trade for Wright during the offseason, but will they give up the required pieces. The Rockies will need to depart with at least one top prospect most likely. The winter surely won't be cold for the Rockies.
