Wandy Rodriguez may be in a Colorado Rockies uniform by Thursday if an agreement can be reached with the Houston Astros, according to a report by Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal. The Astros placed Wandy Rodriguez on waivers and the Rockies were awarded the claim in him. The sides will need to come to a trade agreement by 11:00 a.m. ET t o complete the waiver trade.
As Rosenthal points out, the Rockies aren't likely to give up much for him since he is set to make $36 million over the next three years (if his 2014 option is picked up).
Rodriguez has been a solid pitcher this year. The 32-year-old starter has a 3.31 ERA and 125 strikeouts in 147 innings this season. He also holds a WHIP of 1.27. His Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) of 3.91 says he's a bit worse than than his ERA, but that' still a solid season.
