Cleveland Indians In Hot Pursuit Of Ubaldo Jimenez, According To Report

While Colorado Rockies pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez is still scheduled to start on Saturday evening, the team is in "serious" negotiations with the Cleveland Indians, reports Troy Renck. Jimenez could be scratched any minute, just as the Indians scratched minor league prospect pitchers Drew Pomeranz and Alex White. Both would likely be included in any deal.

Renck believes second baseman Jason Kipnis is also a target in this trade. He would most likely become the Rockies' starting second baseman over Mark Ellis. Jon Heyman reports that the deal could be Pomeranz, Kipnis and third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall.

Depending on the final parameters and if it goes down, the Rockies could net three of the top four prospects in Cleveland's system. This has real legs to it and could be completed at any time. Hold tight.
