Carlos Gonzalez Injury Not Considered Serious

Colorado Rockies fans can let some of the stress off now that Carlos Gonzalez's x-rays came back negative. The Rockies' official Twitter feed reports that he has a right wrist contusion following his crash into the center field wall during Sunday afternoon's game with the Royals. He is listed as day-to-day, but will travel with the team for their series with the Atlanta Braves.

Gonzalez ran down a ball hit by Royals catcher Brayan Pena to start the seventh innings, but when he hit into the wall his wrist hit it awkwardly. He was in obvious pain and the team had the medical cart take him off the field. Gonzalez was enjoying a personal-best with six RBI drive in on a three-run double and a three-run home run. However, the Rockies were only close after CarGo and Mark Ellis drove in five runs in the fifth inning to bring the game to 6-5. The Royals won, 16-8.
