Royals Vs. Rockies: Colorado Faces Fowler Native Luke Hochevar

After a second dominating win in their series with the Kansas City Royals, the Colorado Rockies will face Fowler, CO native Luke Hochevar. The Rockies can pick up a sweep to end their interleague play this season.

Luke Hochevar was the No. 1 overall pick by the Royals in the 2006 draft, a year after he went unsigned as the 40th overall pick by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He made his debut in Sept. 2007 and the results haven't been great so far. He is a career 24-40 pitcher with a 5.45 ERA. This season he is allowing more than a hit per inning (112 H in 110.2 IP), has allowed 15 home runs and he is striking out just 4.3 batters every nine innings.

The Rockies turn to Jason Hammel on Sunday afternoon. Hammel closed out June with a solid start, though he received a no-decision in the 3-2 Rockies victory over the White Sox. He allowed two runs in six innings, while walking two and allowing six hits. He did not strike out any batter. In four of his five starts, Hammel has walked more batters than he has struck out.

This game starts at 1:10 p.m. MT on ROOT.
