Rockies Vs. Diamondbacks: Ubaldo Jimenez Roughed Up In 7-0 Loss

The good times didn't continue to roll for Ubaldo Jimenez as he was shelled in the Colorado Rockies' 7-0 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Things went well for the first two innings when Jimenez (6-9, 4.20 ERA) allowed just a walk and a single. But in the third inning, with two outs, Jimenez gave up back-to-back singles and then saw Justin Upton double both of them across home plate.

It didn't get any better for Jimenez after that. Pitcher Micah Owings drove in a run in the fourth inning Jimenez finished the fifth inning, but Justin Upton hit an RBI triple off of him and Sean Burroughs grounded out for an RBI. Matt Belisle relieved Jimenez and allowed two runs in the seventh. Jimenez did strike out eight, but he still couldn't find his pitches when he needed them most.

Ty Wigginton had two of the team's five hits, including a double. The team hit into three double plays. Owings (4-0, 2.36 ERA) allowed just two hits in five innings and Zach Duke allowed the other three over the final four innings of the game.

The Rockies (48-54, 22-28 away) head to Los Angeles for a three-game series with the Dodgers.
