Braves Vs. Rockies: Ubaldo Jimenez Pitches With Trade Rumors Swirling

After Monday night's loss to the Atlanta Braves, the Colorado Rockies are now 0-for-5 this season against them--and they still have three more games to go. Can Ubaldo Jimenez pick up his third straight win and put an end to the Braves' streak against the Rockies?

Jimenez (5-8, 4.08 ERA) pitched against the Braves on July 4 and showed good stuff on the mound. However, his undoing was using too many pitches, reaching 117 by the time he left in after 5.1 innings. He allowed three on six hits and struck out nine. Jimenez followed that up with a dominant start against the Nationals: eight innings of one-run ball and eight strikeouts. He picked up his fifth win with six solid innings against the Brewers in the first game of the second half of the season.

Brandon Beachy (3-1, 3.21 ERA) missed roughly a month with a strained oblique over May and June, but he hasn't seen a bad start since his return on June 22. In his return, Beachy struck out 11 and allowed one run in six innings. He followed that with nine more strikeouts and one run given up in six innings. After picking up the win in both of those starts, Beachy has no factored into the decision of his last two starts. He's allowed five runs and struck out 12 in 11 innings over those two starts.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. MT.
