Carlos Gonzalez Injury Reveals Deep Bone Bruise In Wrist

Carlos Gonzalez underwent an MRI on Monday and learned Tuesday morning that he has a deep bone bruise in his right wrist, reports the Denver Post. He will receive a cortisone shot in the right wrist, which he injured while running into the center field wall of July 3. Gonzalez did return to the lineup last week, but he was held out over the weekend.

He is expected to test out the wrist over the next couple of days before the second half of the season starts against Milwaukee on Thursday.  The Rockies will need Gonzalez to recover from this wrist injury to have the power in his bat return. For an offense that has consistently failed to live up to expectations, losing this aspect of Gonzalez's game would be another kick to the gut of this team.
