Rockies Vs. Giants: Colorado Goes For Series Victory With Jason Hammel On Mound

After they picked up a hard-to-come-by one-run victory, 2-1, over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday, the Colorado Rockies could take their second consecutive series against them. They swept a mini two-game series at Coors Field in May.

Jason Hammel will look to rebound from his Memorial Day start when the Dodgers tagged seven runs on him in 4.2 innings. Of course, it didn't help that his offense put one run on the boards with 14 hits to go along with it. His ERA went from 3.20 to 3.89 after that start. That was his first start since April 6 that he didn't pitch at least six innings (he went five in his first start of the season).

Hammel hasn't started previously against the Giants in 2011, but his opponent, Ryan Vogelsong, will make his third appearance, second start, of the season against the Rockies. His May 6 start was a dominant one against the Rockies. He went 6.1 innings and held the Rockies to zero run on one hit. The Giants won that game, 3-0.

First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. MT. Tune into ROOT Sports for live coverage.
