San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) – Cody Ross doubled in two runs and scored another in the fourth inning to provide enough offense behind Matt Cain in the Giants’ 3-1 victory over the Rockies.

Cain (4-4) twirled seven innings of one-run ball, scattering four hits and four walks while striking out seven for San Francisco, which opened this three-game National League West series with its third straight win.

Juan Nicasio (1-1), in his second career start, gave up three runs on nine hits over six innings, though he did record two of Colorado’s five hits.
