Is Russell Wilson's college journey about to end on Wednesday? According to Andy Baggot of Madison.com, it may happen:
A decision is expected as early as Wednesday, this after Wilson visited Madison last week and met with Badgers coaches and players over a two-day period.
The problem with this report is that it isn't substantiated with a source, even an unnamed one. We're just back to last week when premature reports of Wilson choosing the Wisconsin Badgers emerged. The Auburn Tigers are the only other team in the running, as far as we know, but things do appear to favor Wisconsin at this point.
However, as Bucky's 5th Quarter points out, Dave Heller of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has tweeted that, according to someone inside the Asheville Tourists, Wilson has not told the Rockies' minor league team that he has made a decision one way or the other.
Wilson would need to leave baseball before the start of August so he could attend August football camp. He would also need to return a portion of his $250,000 signing bonus if he left. He is hitting .265 with a .741 OPS through 10 June games, but overall he is hitting .220 with a .677 OPS. The Rockies would not look favorably on this return to college football
