Can the Colorado Rockies make it three in a row on Friday night? After battling back from a four-run deficit in the seventh inning, the Rockies captured a 9-7 victory in the first game of their home series with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night.
Troy Tulowitzki drove in four runs on Thursday and will look to continue that hot hitting on Friday against Chad Billingsley. He's 8-for-29 in his career against the pitcher and has one home run and four RBI. Todd Helton is 10-for-23 with two home runs and six RBI against Billingsley. In his career at Coors Field, Billingsley is 1-4 with a 7.29 ERA and a WHIP of nearly 2.00. He picked up a win (7 IP< 1 ER) in Los Angeles last week against the Rockies, but on April 6 at Coors Field he allowed five runs in three innings.
Jhoulys Chacin first and only start this season against the Dodgers came on April 5. He kept the Dodgers off the board for seven innings, and that began the start of a strong season. In 11 of his 12 starts this season, Chacin has pitched at least six innings, including a complete game shutout against the Cubs in May. He recently picked up a win on June 4 when the Rockies defeated the Giants, 2-1. He gave up one run in six innings, ending a string of two games in which he gave up multiple runs each time.
