The Colorado Rockies continued their woeful ways with an 8-2 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. They have now lost 10 of their last 13 games.
Ted Lilly was on top of his game on Tuesday night. He allowed two runs on four hits in seven innings. He struck out eight, at least five of which sent the Rockies batter down without even swinging. The two runs scored on a Clayton Mortensen sac fly in the third inning and a Ty Wigginton home run in the seventh inning.
Clayton Mortensen didn't help his case to stay in the rotation, leaving after four innings. He allowed five runs over those innings, two in the first innings on a Matt Kemp home run. Kemp drove in two more on a single in the third inning. Former Rockies Aaron Miles doubled in a run in the next inning. In the seventh inning, Matt Daley allowed a three-run home run to Casey Blake.
The Rockies (25-29, 12-14 road) finish this series on Wednesday at 8:10 p.m. MT. Ubaldo Jimenez and Jon Garland duel.
