In sad news today, former Rockies prospect Paul Bargas has been diagnosed with brain cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune (via HardballTalk). During Spring Training with the Minnesota Twins, Bargas returned home to California and was reported to have a "neurological condition" the the time.
↵Bargas, a left-handed pitcher, was a 13th round draft pick by the Rockies in 2009. He pitched as a reliever for Low-A Asheville in 2010 (3.59 ERA in 58 appearances). he was then traded to the Twins in December 2010 for now-Rockies backup catcher Jose Morales.
↵We here at SB Nation Denver expresses our sympathies to Paul and the Bargas family and hope for a full recovery.
