With Ty Wigginton eligible to come off the disabled list several days ago, the Colorado Rockies have activated the third baseman off the disabled list and have him starting at third base on Friday night against the Padres. He made a short trip up from Colorado Springs.
To complete this move, the Rockies optioned Ian Stewart to Colorado Springs. After going 2-for-26 in April, Stewart was sent to Triple-A for a couple of weeks before he returned on May 3. He picked up one hit in 21at-bats, a double.

Dexter Fowler did not start in Thursday's game, but did appear as pinch-hitter in the ninth inning. He is still recovering from a ball that went off his leg on Tuesday night.
