Rockies Vs. Pirates: Greg Reynolds Serves Up Two-Run Homer, But Game Tied At Two

Through three innings of play, the Colorado Rockies are tied, 2-2, with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Rockies got off to an early start when Dexter Fowler reached on a walk, stole second and then advanced to third on a Ryan Doumit error. With Fowler and Jonathan Herrera on first and third, Carlos Gonzalez hit into a double play that scored Fowler.

Greg Reynolds had a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the first inning for the Rockies with a ground out, a strikeout and a fly out. However, he ran into trouble in the second inning when he allowed a leadoff double to Lyle Overbay and then two batters later allowed a two-run home run to Ryan Doumit.

In the third inning, Dexter Fowler drew a two-out walk and moved to second base on a Jonathan Herrera single. Carlos Gonzalez came through again, this time with a single to center field to score Fowler and tie the game at two. In the bottom half of the inning, Greg Reynolds reached a game-total of 60-plus pitches because he allowed tow walks in the inning, but did not allow the two men on base to score.
