Pirates Vs. Rockies Final Score: Chris Iannetta's Three-Run Homer Leads To 4-1 Colorado Win

Colorado Rockies catcher Chris Iannetta delivered the big blast in his team's 4-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday night. He hit his third home run of the season, a three-run shot in the second inning, off Paul Maholm (1-4). It came on the heels of Seth Smith tying the game on an infield single that scored Carlos Gonzalez.

Gonzalez, who has been mired in a slump of late, started the inning off with a double to left field and then moved to third on a Jose Lopez bunt single. He added a single in the third inning.

Andrew McCutchen led off the game for the Pirates with a home run to center field, but that was all the offense the Pirates could muster against Jason Hammel (3-1). Hammel went seven innings, surrendered six hits and issued two walks. Huston Street allowed a base runner in the ninth, but struck out two on his way to his 10th save of the season.

The Rockies improved to 17-8 and 7-5 at home. This series concludes on Sunday afternoon at 1:10 p.m. MT. The scheduled starters are Charlie Morton and Ubaldo Jimenez.
