Rockies Vs. Marlins: Anibal Sanchez No-Hitting Colorado Through Seven Innings

It's been almost five years since Anibal Sanchez threw a no-hitter for the Florida Marlins (9/6/06), and on Friday night he is already seven innings through another one. He and the Marlins currently lead the Rockies, 4-1. The Rockies scored that one run on an error in the first inning. Dexter Fowler started the inning a moved to second on a passed ball and then to third base on a ground out. Then it appeared Troy Tulowitzki ground out to end the inning, but Gaby Sanchez committed an error to allow Fowler to score.

Sanchez has struck out through seven innings, but things weren't ask kind for Jhoulys Chacin. On the second pitch he threw in the game, Chacin allowed a leadoff home run to Chris Coghlan. Then in the second inning, Anibal Sanchez's sac fly and Coghlan's fielder's choice added two more runs. And then to start the third, Chain gave up another lead off home, this time to Gaby Sanchez.

Earlier in the week, Tim Lincecum took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the Rockies, but Carlos Gonzalez broke it up. Unfortunately, Gonzalez ground out in the seventh this time.
