Rockies Vs. Angels: John Maine Starts His Comeback, Jordan Pacheco Hits Second

The Colorado Rockies are on the road today for a game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Rockies went 1-1 in split-squad games against the city of Chicago on Tuesday. The Angels beat Texas, 2-1, yesterday.

Here is today's starting lineup:

CF Dexter Fowler
C Jordan Pacheco
DH Jason Giambi
SS Troy Tulowitzki
RF Seth Smith
LF Cole Garner
1B Mike Jacobs
3B Hernan Iribarren
2B Jonathan Herrera

The starting pitcher will be Jhoulys Chacin, but John Maine will also pitch in this game. He is a far-out candidate to be the team's fifth starter.

An interesting part of the above lineup is that Jordan Pacheco is not only starting, but hitting second as well. He had a pinch-hit three-run home run on Tuesday and is definitely putting himself firmly in line for some playing time with the Rockies during the regular season as some point. Given the course of his spring, Pacheco could be starting for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in April instead of being sent out-of-state to Double-A Tulsa.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. MT.
