The Colorado Rockies return to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick after a two-game road trip against the Cleveland Indians and the Kansas City Royals. On Sunday, the Indians receive their first taste of Salt River Fields.
In their Friday contest with the Indians, the Rockies committed five errors on their way to a 6-2 loss. Jonathan Herrera's triple was the offensive highlight of the game for the Rockies. Jhoulys Chacin was touched up for three runs in three innings.
Jason Hammel takes the mound for the Rockies in this afternoon contest. On March 1, Hammel pitched two scoreless innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Rockies won that contest, 7-4. Huston Street, Matt Reynolds and Matt Daley are among the pitchers who will take the mound after Hammel.
The Rockies face Justin Masterson, who is competing for a spot in the rotation. Like the Rockies' Felipe Paulino and Esmil Rogers, Masterson is also a candidate for the bullpen.
