The Colorado Rockies receive their first taste of American League baseball when they visit the Cleveland Indians in Goodyear, Ariz. on Wednesday. Jhoulys Chacin toes the rubber first for the Rockies, while the Indians put Fausto Carmona on the mound. Both teams have dropped their last two spring training games.
Troy Tulowitzki will be out for today's game and Saturday's road game against the Kansas City Royals following his heel injury in Thursday's game.
The Rockies' lineup, courtesy of the team's official Twitter feed:
CF Dexter Fowler
SS Jonathan Herrera
DH Jason Giambi
RF Ty Wigginton
1B Mike Jacobs
LF Ryan Spilborghs
C Chris Iannetta
2B Chris Nelson
3B Thomas Field
P Chacin
With Tulowitzki out, Herrera receives the start. Herrera is basically a lock for a roster position as the utility fielder and would be Tulo's backup when he needs to be out of the lineup. Todd Helton isn't making this road trip, so Giambi, Jacobs and Wigginton figure to see playing time on Saturday as well.
Eric Stults, Clayton Mortenson, Matt Lindstrom, Adam Jorgenson, Matt Daley, Juan Nicasio and Christian Friedrich will also pitch in this game for the Rockies.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. MT and MLB.com will have exclusive audio coverage of the game.
