Infected Finger Prevents Ubaldo Jimenez Start

Ubaldo Jimenez was expected to pitch for the Colorado Rockies in today's game against the San Diego Padres. However, as the Denver Post's Troy Renck reports, an infected finger on his pitching hand will keep him out. He is not traveling with the team to Peoria. The Rockies do need to be careful with Jimenez, the staff ace, while he acclimates himself to in-season conditioning.

Greg Reynolds, who was scheduled to pitch after Jimenez, will now start in his place. Reynolds pitched in Saturday's spring training opener and allowed a solo home run to Kelly Johnson, the only real blemish in the outing. He struck out two D'Backs.
