2011 Spring Training: Rockies Face Brad Hawpe, Padres

The Colorado Rockies play their first game outside of Salt River Fields on Wednesday afternoon when they visit the San Diego Padres in Peoria. The Padres are 0-2 with losses to the Mariners and the Royals. Not recorded in the standings, but they also had a tie game with Mariners on Monday.

According to the Rockies' official Twitter feed, the lineup is:

CF Dexter Fowler
2B Jonathan Herrera
LF Charlie Blackmon
SS Troy Tulowitzki
1B Todd Helton
RF Ryan Spilborghs
C Jose Morales
3B Chris Nelson
P Greg Reynolds

Herrera continues to be the dark horse candidate for second base, having put together several strong games. Jose Morales is still the front-runner to be Chris Iannetta's backup, though Michael McKenry and Matt Pagnozzi are still in the running. Chris Nelson will see plenty of playing time with Ian Stewart out for several more days.

According to Jim Armstrong of the Denver Post, the Rockies' other pitchers include Matt Reynolds, Rafael Betancourt, Edgmer Escalona, Billy Buckner and Alan Johnson. For the Padres, Aaron Harang will start and be followed by Casey Kelly, who was acquired in the Adrian Gonzalez trade with the Red Sox. Matt Lollis, Luke Gregerson, Chad Qualls, Brad Brach, Jeremy Hefner and Evan Scribner will follow.
